Change of Plans: Internship In Asia!

by: JD

by JD on January 27, 2012

Initially I wrote this big long post about why the trip is over / stalled. Meh. Here’s the deal:

Motorcycle travel is awesome. But, I don’t want it to delay my larger ambitions in life. Time to pull my head out of my ass and do something that’s going to slingshot me forward a few years in terms of my business, finances, value, contribution, social skills, etc…

Enter stage left, Adsense Flippers. These guys put up an internship a few months ago and I knew I had to apply for. It seemed like a long-shot at first, but they’ve graciously selected me! And there’s no way I’d pass this opportunity up, not for anything. It’s my dream job. So, off to the Philippines I go. I’m keeping this domain, and the site will stay live, but I’m not sure how much ‘personal blogging’ I’m going to be doing in the next few months.

Thank you SO much to everyone who has read my work, commented, emailed me or otherwise supported me. You have my deepest thanks.

Sometimes the road towards what matters will take you in strange directions. Just go with it.

Lastly, go here –> Tropical Workforce.

BOOM! Glad to have you coming out, buddy!

Had some great people apply…really wish we could have taken 2 or 3 interns, honestly! Alas…one is all we can bring on for now…and you’re it!

We’ll have a bunch of work in front of us, but there’s already a plan in the works to squeeze in a bit of fun/travel. Going to be awesome, man…glad we picked you!

I have no doubt the competition was tough. I’m truly honored; and I’m ready to get to work and to learn! :-) February 18 feels like a long way away right now!

Congrats on winning the internship, you are going to have a blast and learn so much. I took a small Honda Wave 24,000k in Asia during 4 months last year so you should have a blast with the bike scene here also.

Congrats! Earlier this week I was wondering what had happened to your trip – where you out on the road and having too much fun to write about it, been in a wreck, or just otherwise busy with life.

You’re still traveling and on an adventure. Enjoy it!

@ Neale,
Oh boy! That sounds like one hell of a trip. If you documented that online throw the link up here in the comments so I can check it out!

@ Matthew
Hey man! Thanks for checking in! Trip was good, just taking things in a different direction now. Thanks man. I intend to enjoy it. How are your goals coming along?

Would love to hear how far you got on your trip.

Made some great progress on some of my goals. Like you, though, this year is bringing a bit of a direction change.

Well, I think more times than not, changing directions IS the path forward. Glad to hear you’re doing well though! Checked out your blog, looks like you’ve been hard at work!

My Facebook page has most of the trip details in it. If you’re curious you could always check that out. :-) Later man!

So happy for you John!! I can’t to see how life will be for you in Asia. It seems a great time to share your story, that’s why I’m publishing your story tomorrow. Stay tuned! And again congratulations! :)

Thanks Caroline. Your support and words of encouragement over the last year or so have been SO helpful. Thank you, seriously. :-) Throw a link up here in the comments when you get the interview posted. :-)
